Young Urban Farmers CSA is an independent, non-profit organization offering homeowners a personal vegetable garden that they can grow right in their own backyard. We hope to improve access to local organic food, foster leadership and education, and engage and connect the community in the rediscovery of local food. Our backyard CSA program is an innovative adaptation of the increasingly popular CSA model for alternative agriculture, and part of a greater movement towards access to safe, local food.
Our mission is to reconnect communities with local food and our vision is to grow community food sheds.
At YUF CSA, we offer members of the community a chance to experience and enjoy an interactive learning program to learn and experience sustainable gardening in practise. Run entirely by volunteers, our program will teach you not only about gardening, but also about sustainability and the organic and green movements. We're always looking for people in the Lawrence Park and Wychwood Barns area who are interested in sharing in our vision and mission by sharing their yards, so if that's you, or if you're just interested in learning more about volunteering or participating with YUFCSA in general, please email:
