Seedy Saturday

Seedy Saturday is Toronto's foremost grassroots seed exchange, gardening and eco-fair

Saturday, March 15, 2008, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Scadding Court Community Centre 707 Dundas St. W (southeast corner of Dundas West & Bathurst)

Yes, it's almost that time of year to begin thinking about what you will plant and where you will get your seeds. Well, hang on to that 2nd part because you can buy them (or trade for some) at Seedy Saturday 2008 on March 15th.

Where? Scadding Court Community Centre of course -- 707 Dundas St. West, south-east corner of Bathurst and Dundas. Doors open at 10am and it continues on till 3pm, plenty of time to get seeds, attend a seminar or workshop, check out the latest organic gardening products and groups. And have some yummy food too.

Seed exchange & vendors, displays, and information from environmental groups; great food from local vendors, raffle, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations.

Wheelchair accessible.

Did you save seeds this summer? Would you like to have some help cleaning them and packaging them up? Or would you like to have some company while you are doing it? Or perhaps you would like to learn by helping us to clean and sort seeds for Seedy Saturday.

Please come and join us for this seedy event!

It will be held on March 3rd 2008. At The Stop 1884 Davenport Rd, From 5pm to 9pm. There will be pot-luck snacks.

If you want, you can also bring Scissors, tape, envelopes or paper and pens.

TCGN Visioning:

You are invited to join us for the Toronto Community Garden Network Visioning Session on Saturday, January 19, 2008.

We are setting aside a day to share good food, good questions and even better ideas to bring clarity to our work and set priorities to guide us for the next couple of years.

This session is designed for people who feel a strong stake in the future of the TCGN and are willing to play a role in developing a concrete plan for how the Network can most effectively meet the needs of community gardens and gardeners across Toronto.

Spaces are limited, so please RSVP by Monday, January 14 to Ian at ian.aley@utoronto.ca or Rhonda at 416-652-7867 ext. 222

Here are the details: TCGN Visioning Session Saturday, January 19, 2008 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Riverdale Farm - the Residence 201 Winchester Street, 2 blocks north of Gerrard and three blocks east of Parliament St.

A yummy TCGN lunch will be provided (vegetarian with some wheat, nut & dairy free items)

Directions:

By TTC: From Castle Frank Subway Station, get on Parliament bus and get off at Winchester. Walk east to the end of the street. The Farm is on the right.

From College or Queens Park Subway Station, hop onto the eastbound streetcar and get off at Sumach Street, east of Parliament. Walk north to Carlton Street, then through the Riverdale Park West. The Farm is located at the east end of the Park.
