Good Food for All Event

On Saturday, September 20, The Stop will be hosting its annual Good Food for All event. It is a celebration in Davenport West of local food and our neighbourhood.

This year's main event will be a Celebrity Chef Throwdown, M.C.ed by Matt Galloway. We will also have a repeat of the highly successful Kids Zone, complete with food tasting, crafts, instrument making (for the samba parade), prizes, and again, the obligatory bouncy castle. And once again, we've got some great music lined up.

We could use some help with ideas for, and coordination of, other activities.

Some ideas we've had are:

A weed walk to identify edible weeds, demos of different uses of herbs for food, cosmetics and/or medicine.

A scavenger hunt for kids or in combination with the weed walk.

In other words,... we need activity organizers and leaders and are open to new ideas for (free) activities or displays.

We have near-confirmation from one well-known chef, as well as, of course, our own well-known chef, Joshna.

But we're also interested in pursuing some chefs from neighbourhood restaurants to be part of one of the teams who will vie for the prize for "Who can best wrangle an assortment of our garden produce into a delicious dish!"

So, if you are one of these chefs, or know one, please pass on your/their contact info.

Food donations are also welcome.

If you have some time, resources and creativity to spare, please email our organizer, Melissa, at mel@melissalarkin.com
